You may be eligible for a refund if your parking charge notice was issued in the Skircoat area since November 18, 2013 or Halifax town centre since March 31, 2008.
The council has been forced to suspend all on-street parking charges after admitting that parking orders in Halifax town centre have been illegal since 2008.
If you think you might have a valid claim you will need to provide your name, address, vehicle registration and charge notice number, or failing that, evidence you paid the charge when filling out the council’s online claim form or by calling 01422 392171.
You may also be able to claim money back if you bought a pay and display ticket on one of the affected streets.
More than one charge notice can be refunded per person, while all refunds will be made by cheque within 90 days of a claim being verified.
