Halifax residents could be part of world record group hug

Halifax residents are being sought to break a world record.

Forever Friends are looking for people from Halifax to take part in the attempt, which will last 25 hours, on 19 and 20 September at Leeds Train Station.

The ideal candidates will have high levels of stamina, be a good listener, humorous, comfortable with others and have lots of hugability.

Forever Friends Brand Manager Jacquie Costello said: “We’re coming to the end of our ‘Summer of Hugging’ campaign and we wanted to round it off with a big climax.

“We’ve been working hard over the last few months to get the nation expressing a little more affection during these difficult times and nothing represents the need for us to stick together than a group hug that we are hoping will last over 25 hours to set a Guinness World Records title.”

Potential huggers should send an email of no more than 50 words to recordhug@lucre.co.uk highlighting why they should be in the Guinness World Records attempt with their name, address and contact number by 20 August.
