Halifax RUFC forced to forfeit Loughborough Students game
HALIFAX RUFC's dismal National Three (North) season has taken another dramatic turn with the club announcing that they are forfeiting this Saturday's game at Loughborough Students.
A lack of fit and available players has prompted the decision - the first time Halifax have had to forfeit a game in living memory.
The club will be deducted two points but will not incur any financial penalties.
Now they have to ensure they play their final game against Harrogate at Ovenden Park next Tuesday evening to ensure they retain a place in the league system.
"It is very regrettable but we had no other choice," said Halifax's Chairman of Rugby Graham Allan.
"It is now a question of finishing the season the best way we can."
