Halifax Vikings v Wath: Big day for Vikings as Wath pay visit
Halifax Vikings face the acid test tomorrow when they tackle a visiting Wath side from three divisions higher in the Yorkshire Silver Trophy.
The Ovenden Park side, who were the club's thirds last season in Yorkshire Merit Four, are now top of Yorkshire Six and undefeated.
Wath are believed to have three Rotherham Titans B players in their squad and got back to winning ways in Yorkshire Three last week.
Halifax were checking on Louis Emmerson (thigh strain), Martin Clarke (neck), Marc Wells (ankle) and Jonny Greenwood (abdominal strain) before naming a side. Halifax are also missing Eddie Shaw with glandular fever but welcome back Gary Cadden to the front row and Jimmy Moore to the second row.
The Vikings beat Skipton 50-10 last week but were disappointed with their performance. Backs Sam Lukonde and Tony Curtis are in good form and the back row of Nick Elvidge, Jonny Greenwood and Marc Wells are proving a good defensive unit.
Coach John Henry said: "Wath will be strong and determined but we do not fear them and what we lack in experience is more than compensated for by enthusiasm, fitness and drive."
The Dukes put their unbeaten league record on the line at Bramley Phoenix.
