The only gift these animals want this festive season is a loving new home.

Gorgeous Alaskan malamute Shadow will be right at home in the snow if it’s a white Christmas this year.

He was brought into the RSPCA animal centre in Wade Street, Halifax, by inspectors who found him living in appalling conditions.

He’s now looking for an experienced owner who can give him the care and attention he deserves.

Mary the cat is also looking for room at a new owner’s inn this Christmas.

She and her kittens Carol, Joy, Gabriel and Noel, were found abandoned in a crate and brought to the centre for rehoming.

The kittens have all been reserved but there are plenty of other animals in need of new homes.

Among them are Dasher, a grey lop-eared rabbit, Dancer, the last kitten left in a litter named after Santa’s reindeer, and Baubles, an abandoned rat.

To see all the animals up for adoption or for more information, visit the centre, call 01422 365628 or visit www.rspca-halifaxandhuddersfield.org.uk.
