ALL the fun of the fair was had by students at St John’s Primary School in Clifton.

Pupils took part in face painting and the school’s gardening club took part in boot planting at the summer fair.

Teachers Mr Roberts and Mr Brown got a good soaking thanks to their pupils and tasty treats had also been made to raise money for the school.

A variety of stalls were available around the school grounds on Towngate.

The hugely popular chocolate tombola was once again on offer.

Chair of the school governors Sharon Hitchcock said the grey weather did not ruin their fun and a great day was had by all their visitors.

“It was so lovely to see so many of the children enjoying themselves. We raised a grand total of £1,417.65, which is fantastic,” she said.
