Women who have had or who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer are taking to the catwalk for the 9th annual fashion show.

The event, hosted by the specialist breast care nurses at CHFT takes place at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, on Sunday October 12 (7.30 pm for 8pm).

In all, 33 models of all ages will be taking part and the event is seen as a big confidence-booster for women on the road to recovery after a diagnosis.

Organiser specialist nurse Veronica Allinson, said: “This event is a huge pleasure for staff and models alike. It’s a lot of fun and brings us all together after many have undergone very difficult times. We are delighted our patients support the event and look forward to the night which will be, as ever, very emotional for all of us.”

Local clothes stores House of Fraser, House of Elliott, Pure, Harveys, Molly & Ginger, Amelia and Almond have donated fashion for the night and model agency boss Bernadette Gledhill will choreograph the catwalk displays.

Tickets are £10 and funds will help host next year’s event. To book tickets call the Macmillan Unit at CRH on 01422 222700.
