THE council has stopped referring people to a Calderdale nursing home which remains under police investigation.
Police were called to Elm View, off Huddersfield Road, Halifax, last week following concerns about the treatment of residents.
All family members were told about the probe by social workers before the visit began.
Calderdale Council and NHS Calderdale said today: “We undertook an initial review of each patient within the home and where necessary took immediate actions to ensure they were safe.
“We are now working with the home to put in place suitable and sustainable long term care plans. The police investigation is ongoing.”
The home is owned by Mr and Mrs P Bentley and has space for 27 residents, who pay from £489 a week for care.
It is managed by Faheza Simpson.
A police spokesman said the investigation was to review the management of the home.
