FUNDRAISERS painted plates then painted the town red for a cancer charity.

Karen Motley organised the event at Flying Saucers, Hebden Bridge, in memory of her husband Jim, who died from cancer aged 45 last year.

The afternoon raised more than £200 for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, Leeds.

Mrs Motley is currently planning a trek to Peru with her nephew David Copping, in memory of Jim.

A second event at Sowerby Bridge Working Men’s Club, Bolton Brow, saw friends and family get their gladrags on for a night of music and dancing.
