Cluster formed for three authorities

THE strategic health authority which covers Yorkshire and Humber has formed a cluster with those in the north east and north west.

The three SHAs will be run by a single management structure from October 3, headed by the current chief executive of NHS North Easet, Ian Dalton.

Professor Paul Johnstone - who has worked as director of public health for NHS Yorkshire and the Humber since 2002 - has also been appointed onto the cluster board, along with director of human resources Tim Gilpin who has been appointed the cluster’s director of workforce and education.

Other appointments on the board include: NHS North East’s Richard Barker, as chief operating officer and Professor Stephen Singleton as medical director; and NHS North West’s Jane Cummings as chief nurse and Mark Ogden and director of finance.
