A craftsman from Illingworth has handmade a wooden rocking horse for children visiting hospital.

Bill Nixon, who has previously made horses for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, donated the horse for children at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s outpatients’ clinic as a thankyou for when he was a patient in 2010. Sister Vivienne Neville said: “This is a lovely gift and very timely as our previous horse had to be ‘retired’ after so much use over the years.

They are hugely popular and we are very grateful to Mr Nixon for thinking of us.”
