A bumper cheque for £13,500 was presented to Yorkshire Cancer Research by a group of cyclists.
They rode 1,000 miles over 10 days from Land’s End to John o’Groats in memory of Dr Roger Brown.
He was a popular GP and sportsman who died last year from cancer aged 53.
He had worked at the Northolme Practice, Halifax, for 23 years.
His friend Jason Georgiou said it was a tough but challenge, but worth it.
“Dr Brown was well known and we were well supported,” he said.
