Doctor Katy Islip has raised more than £250 for medical research after a gruelling Iron Man triathlon challenge.

Dr Islip, who works at Calderdale Royal Hospital, took part in the Nottingham Outlaw triathlon by swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles, and running 26.2 miles, in under 13 hours for Kidney Research UK.

Dr Islip, who is preparing for her next triathlon in the Lake District later this year said: “It’s fantastic that I have been able to raise so much money for such a good cause by doing something I love.

“It has been a really good experience and I have enjoyed every moment of it.”
