FRIENDS of a much-loved woman who died at just 29 are raising money for her three little boys’ futures.
Lisa Brooke, who was well-known in Halifax and used to be a pupil at Sowerby Bridge High School, died suddenly in March.
She left three sons - 11-year-old Conner, nine-year-old Josh and eight-year-old Jack.
Inspired by Lisa’s love of fancy dress, her friends are holding a beach party in Halifax next month to collect cash for her sons for when they are older.
Gerry Robertson, manager at The Old Cock in Halifax town centre, was friends with Lisa and used to work with her.
“Lisa was everybody’s friend,” she said.
“She was always smiling and always bubbly.
“If you were feeling down, she would come over and cheer you up. She would do anything for you.
“She was the life and soul of the party.”
Guests at the beach party, at The Old Cock on Sunday, June 3 from 2pm, will be invited to dress in Hawiaiian-themed fancy dress to celebrate Lisa’s life.
There will also be a bouncy castle, live music from three bands, DJs, karaoke, raffles and a barbecue.
Brave volunteers will also be carrying out a sponsored fire walk in aid of children’s cancer charity Little Heroes.
