A family from Sowerby Bridge have donated iPads and TVs to the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital to help patients through chemotherapy.

It is the latest donation by Jane Bottomley, who has been cared for at the unit since she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March this year, and her husband Paul, who have raised more than £4,000 so far. Mr Bottomley said: “When visiting the unit, I realised there were many patients undergoing treatment without anyone with them and by giving the unit the iPads and televisions I hope it will take their mind off the chemotherapy.” They thanked all those who have helped including friends Sue Merry, Sanjay Patel, Paul’s sister Catherine Bottomley, Jane’s sister Janet Myhowycz, her partner Clive Braithwaite and their son Paul.
