DOCTORS across Calderdale have urged people to be prepared this Jubilee bank holiday period.
With double the bank holidays approaching, by choosing the apporpriate health care service, people will get help or medicines more quickly.
Dr Graham Wardman, joint director of the public health for Calderdale, said: “The best way to make sure people are treated in the right place is to call the West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service to get advice and be directed to the most appropriate service for your care need. Illnesses such as colds, upset stomachs and seasonal problems like hay fever, mild sunburn and mild sunstroke can all be self treated. Your local pharmacy or the NHS Direct website provide great advice on what to have in your medicine cabinet.”
For urgent care and out of hours GPs, call the West Yorkshire Urgent Care Service on 0345 605 9999.
