A group of NHS staff from West Yorkshire with more than 1,165 years of work between them received their long service awards at the Artworks in Halifax.
The group of 46 staff , who have all worked for 25 years and more in the NHS, work at a range of community, mental health and learning disability services across Calderdale and Kirklees.
Kath Semertzidon, a senior management accountant with South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust who has worked for the NHS for 30 years, said: “I’ve seen a lot of changes down the years but I’ve enjoyed it. We should all be proud of the NHS, it’s a great institution.”
Kathryn Chappell has worked for the NHS South West Yorkshire Partnership for 40 years. She said: “It’s been great - they gave me some flowers too, which I didn’t expect. It’s nice that they appreciate what everyone here has done.”
Helen Belgrave, a team leader for the Calder Valley Mental Health Team, has worked in the NHS for 28 years. She said: “It’s such a good organisation to work for and you get to work with some fantastic people.
“I think we do make a real difference and it’s great that we’re given events like this to make us feel valued.”
