HEALTH experts have warned people to slap on the suncream in the unseasonal sun.
Weather forecasters are predicting the sunshine and high temperatures seen over the past two weeks will be continuing.
Regional director for public health at NHS Yorkshire and the Humber, Paul Johnstone, said: “Most people will agree that this unexpected sunshine is fantastic and it is great to be able to get out and about and enjoy it.
“However, just because it is still only April that doesn’t mean you can’t get sunburned.
“There are a number of ways that you can prevent sunburn and stay safe while you are out enjoying the sun. You should wear clothing to protect your skin or at least carry something which will enable you to cover up. It is also important to make sure you use sunscreen if you are expecting to be out in the sun for extended periods of time,” he added
