Hebden Bridge Comedy Club is back.

The club has brought comedians from Africa, Australia, USA and Canada to the town but had to stop because of venue problems.

But promoter Rob Riley says they have found a new place to perform.

“Earlier this year we got wind of the Old Gate opening in the town and I heard on the grapevine they were looking at live entertainment,” he said.

“We’re sticking to the tried and tested formula but the more intimate and much more comfortable space should catapult the gig into the comedy club premier league.”

Rob has had surprise appearances from John Bishop and Jason Manford at other gigs he runs in the North West, and has not ruled out similar star spots in Hebden Bridge.

The first show, on Sunday, October 14, will be headlines by Simon Bligh - Buddhist, fifth dan karate black belt-holder and former Time Out Comedian of the Year. The show starts at 8pm. Ticktes are £8 from www.hebdenbridgecomedy.co.uk or from the Old Gate.
