ORGANISERS need help to make a trip for a group of Portuguese showjumpers to Hebden Bridge one to remember.
A group of riders will visit the Hebden Bridge Equestrian Centre next week for tuition in showjumping from September 5 to 11.
Karen Clithero, from the centre, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to share our beautiful area and what we have to offer to our Portuguese guests.
“Golega, the town they live in, is similar in size to Hebden Bridge, and is situated in a beautiful area just north of Lisbon.”
The trip is funded by the Portuguese government and it is hoped there will be an exchange trip next year.
Golega, a small province, is known as the “capital of horses” and hosts the national horse fair each year.
Local groups and businesses are being asked to come forward if they can help provide the group with experiences to make it a trip to remember.
They also need a minibus to help transport the riders as they hope to take in showjumping events across Yorkshire.
To draw an end to their week in Yorkshire, a mini competition will be held on Sunday.
