Calderdale Save Our Services Campaign is backing a National Demonstration in London on Saturday, October 20, organised by the TUC.

“A Future That Works” will promote the Trades Union movement’s policies for industry, services and jobs rather than austerity and cutbacks.

To help pay for a coach, campaign organisers will hold a benefit evening at Hebden Bridge Trades Club on Wednesday, October 10, starting at 8pm.

Former Halifax MP Alice Mahon will be speaking and entertainment will be provided by bands The Sail Pattern and Cookie Time!, poet Oxana Poberejnaia and DJ Maverick.

The coach will pick-up in Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Halifax, and tickets cost £17 / £8 concessions.

People wanting seats should e-mail Calderdale Save Our Services is also appealing for additional donations from supporters who are unable to travel to London.
