YOUR winners of the Halifax Courier Child of the Year 2011 competition have been crowned.
The closely-fought contest attracted a record number of votes this year as more than 3,500 readers picked their favourite mini models.
Winner of the age to two was Amar Hayat Chaudhry, aged one, the age three to seven winner was Jimmy Hirst, five, and winner of the age eight to 11 category was Ellie Walton, nine.
Each scooped £100 in vouchers from competition sponsor Asda and a picture of the winning photograph taken by Bespoke Imagery Photography.
The trio picked up their prizes from Halifax Asda’s store manager Mark Edwards.
Karen Rice, the Courier’s promotions supervisor, congratulated all three winners.
She said: “This was our best year yet.
“We had more votes than ever - it just keeps climbing.
“Thank you to everyone for voting for their children and try again next year!”
Joseph Greenfield, duty manager at Halifax Asda, said: “It was fantastic for us to be involved in something like this. Everyone seemed to enjoy taking part and it was a great success.
“There were some really good contenders in there - we saw some little models.
“Congratulations to the winners.”
