children went on a bear hunt as part of the council’s summer holiday programme.

Youngsters aged four to eight spent the day at Shibden Hall courtyard for a fun session based on the best-selling book We’re Going On A Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.

Among the activities were storytelling and craft making – but they were unable to go on a walk because of the poor weather.

There will be two more bear hunts before children go back to school in September.

The next is on Tuesday, with the last chance to take part coming on August 23.

Tickets are £4 and booking is essential.

To reserve a place for your child, call the council on 01422 392638.

The event starts at 10.30am and runs until 2pm. Another children’s activity, KidZone, for five- to eight-year olds, continues throughout next week at North Bridge Leisure centre.
