WE’RE all looking for the perfect photo but one Mytholmroyd photographer is searching for models who will pull on their best dresses to pose in an unusual environment.
Tony Hanrahan is looking for models to “Rock the Frock”.
The idea is for women – and men too – to pull on their best clothes and pose in an industrial or unusual setting to create a picture they will never forget.
It’s similar to the US-led idea of “Trash the Dress,” where brides put on their wedding gowns dresses and take them into a muddy field and splash around.
Tony is keen to hear from participants who are willing to give their dresses a workout.
He said: “It’s about creating some fabulous, arty, unusual, wedding photographs that you wouldn’t get to do on your wedding day.
“It’s a great, fun shoot to do,” he said.
The trend started in America and Australia and despite many brides being apprehensive is spreading across the UK.
“For some it’s a great opportunity to wear that dress all over again and maybe get shots in a location that wasn’t available to them on their wedding day. Others may opt for the full frock experience and end up in the grungiest of locations.
“It’s just a great and fun way of getting some unique fashion or lifestyle images that will compliment your existing wedding album.”
And he adds: “Remember, dry cleaning fixes just about anything.”
The results of the shoots, which last around an hour, are given to participants on CD for them to choose and print.
