Members of Stones Cricket Club, Ripponden, raised almost £1,180 for Macmillan Cancer Support following a charity night.
Fund raising activities included Play Your Cards Right, guess the weight of the cake, stand up bingo, a giant raffle with many prizes all donated by local businesses and an auction which included two old Manchester United signed shirts, kindly donated by Kate Turner whose father was a cancer sufferer.
Pictured above presenting the cheque to Brian Chapman, treasurer of Macmillan cancer support, are Peter McDonnell, chairman of Stones Cricket Club, and Kate who helped organise the event.
Mr McDonnell said: “A huge thank must go to everyone at Stones CC who helped organise the event, to the many local businesses who donated the prizes, and to our members for their support and generosity.
“It’s really nice to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause.”
