Huddersfield Town v Walsall: Murphy seeks end to home hoodoo
RUMOUR is rife that Norwich assistant manager Lee Clark is poised to be appointed as new Huddersfield boss this week.
But Galpharm Stadium caretaker manager Gerry Murphy is focused on securing a home win over Walsall tomorrow to help push the club up the League One ladder.
"Our home form is a worry and we have got to get that monkey off our backs," he said.
"We can't keep talking about it. The players have got to go out there and deliver."
The Irishman revealed that Joe Skarz could be out of action until the New Year after the talented defender damaged his ankle in training on Monday.
"He is going to be out for three to four weeks," Murphy said. "Joe has being playing really well and that is a massive blow to us."
With Daniel Broadbent also sidelined with an ankle problem, Murphy has recalled Tom Clarke from his loan spell at neighbours Bradford.
Clarke, who had a stint at Halifax Town last season, made seven appearances for the Bantams before he was summoned back by Murphy.
"With several other players out on loan for good reasons, we have decided to bring Tom back to the club in order to strengthen our squad," said the Town temporary chief.
Robbie Williams is set to deputise for Skarz at left-wing back while forward Keigan Parker serves the second of his three match ban.
