Hannah Cockroft received a big welcome home as her neighbours trimmed up their street in honour of her success in Rio.

The 24-year-old wheelchair racer, from Mount Tabor, secured an incredible three gold medals in the Paralympic Games, smashing the world record in the 400m T34.

She will fly the flag for Halifax in a ‘Rio Heroes’ homecoming parade in Leeds on Wednesday.

And plans for a Calderdale celebration are also in the pipeline, the council has confirmed.

Chris Hardy sent us this fantastic picture of Hannah and her neighbours in Waindale Crescent. How would you like to see our Paralympians honoured in the borough?
