Calderdale Interfaith Council and members held a peace vigil for Syria and remembered all those who have lost their lives, been injured or displaced in the conflict.

The peace vigil held September 15 at Hanson Lane Islamic Centre, Halifax, was attended by 60 people and promoted faith communities coming together in times of conflict.

Dr Hafeez from the centre said: “Faith unites communities at times of hardship and suffering.”

Members of faith communities read a prayer for peace in Syria and for the rest of the world.
