There will be all the fun of the carnival this weekend as the ever popular annual event returns to Todmorden.
The action starts today in Centre Vale Park, where there will be fair rides across the Bank Holiday weekend.
And on Saturday, the parade, with a theme of ‘children’s story book characters’ will make its way through Todmorden, beginning at 12.30pm in Sanworth Street.
Teams will go head in the carnival’s annual tug of war competition.
All you need is eight members for a team - it is free to enter and there will be a cash prize of £200 for the winning team and £100 for the runners up.
The Todmorden Carnival began again in 1953. It has steadily progressed over the years and become one of the prime events in Todmorden, providing fun and entertainment for all the family and an opportunity to raise funds for charity.
Pre-sale tickets for the carnival are £1 and £4 for adults/£3 for OAPs on the day.
They can be bought at Todmorden Newscentre, Bridge Street, or Abdul’s Newsagents, Halifax Road.
Will you be going along to watch the carnival parade this weekend?
We would love to see your photographs from the day, so be sure to send them along to email@example.com and they could feature online or in the paper.
Don’t forget to pick up a copy of the paper next Thursday- there will be a full report from the carnival weekend and stacks of pictures from our photographer.
