A WHOLE school turned from pupils to pirates. The mini-hearties at Elland Primary dressed in stripes with eye-patches and parrots for a challenge day.

They were divided into mixed-age teams and completed a series of problem-solving activities in design technology, art and numeracy.

Head teacher Wendy Holdsworth said: “The children worked really well and looked fantastic in their pirate outfits.” Year 6 pupils sold pirate-themed buns and raised £95.50.
