PUPILS at a Calderdale primary school showed off their wacky side to honour their former teaching assistant who died before Christmas.
Sarah Watson, who was also the out-of-school club coordinator at Old Town Primary School, Hebden Bridge, was a flamboyant dresser, according to staff, and as a tribute the children dressed up in wacky clothing for a day.
There was also a special assembly in Mrs Watson's honour, where pupils read out memories of her.
A box containing notes that the children had written about Mrs Watson was presented to her family. Head teacher Janette Batty, said: "Sarah worked here for ten years and was there for everybody. She's left us with some lovely memories.
"Sarah will be very sadly missed. She was a wonderfully funny, intelligent person who will leave a huge hole in our lives."
Mrs Watson, 54, leaves behind her mother, and five daughters.
