Last Tango in Halifax back on TV tomorrow

Calderdale viewers will be looking to spot familiar sights when the new series of Last Tango in Halifax returns tomorrow.(Tue)

The drama was a huge hit for the BBC last year and returns with the first episode picking up from where it left off.

Alan (Derek Jacobi) regains consciousness from his heart scare much to Celia’s (Anne Reid) relief.

The story covering the two pensioners rekindling a youthful romance received wide praise.

It was filmed mainly in West Yorkshire and the new series is said to have more Calderdale locations.

Writer Sally Wainwright was brought up in Calderdale and the area regularly features in her creations.

The last series, noted for its humour throughout, wan a Bafta.

Viewers will now see Alan and Celia plan a quick marriage and there will be plenty of twists and turns along the way.

It is on BBC 1 at 9 pm.
