Letter: Post Office closure will see another building lying vacant

It was surprising to see, on the front of last week's Courier, '˜Post Office set to close', that among others, the Labour MP for Halifax, Holly Lynch, along with the council leader Tim Swift, that they were calling for the Post Office on Commercial Street to remain where it is and not be moved into WH Smith on Market Street.

Surprising why? Well during the last Labour Government, Labour closed down more than 4,000 post offices. Such a welcome change then from Labour when now back in opposition.

And of course during the Labour years one David Cameron was campaigning to save our Post Offices - funny little world.

The real problem with the closure of the Commercial Street branch is will we have another major building in the town centre lying vacant and deteriorating?
