A resident of Claremount House Care Home celebrated a very special birthday last week.
Lillian Sunderland turned 100 and enjoyed a party with other residents and staff to mark the milestone occasion.
Lillian was born in Derbyshire and it is thought that she owned a farm in her younger years.
It is not known when she moved to the Halifax area, but she has been a resident of the home at Claremount Road since 2012.
Mark Allchin, activities coordinator at the home, said: “Everybody really enjoyed the party and we always like to make it a special time when we have a birthday.
“We organised some entertainment and made a cake and she also received telegrams from the Queen and the Secretary of State.”
