CREW (Cardiac Rehabilitation by Exercise and Walking) members had a CPR and First Aid revision session, plus an introduction to a new portable defibrillator at the North Bridge Leisure Centre.

The state of the art, lightweight defibrillator will be taken on the weekly walks and to exercise classes.

An anonymous donation from a member also means another defibrillator will purchased for use at exercise classes.

CREW has also been instrumental in placing defibrillators in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Halifax and the Fielden Centre at Todmorden.

CREW is a charity offering exercise classes, educational sessions, a weekly 4 to 5 mile walk and social events for people with cardiac and circulatory problems.

Membership is free and open to all and further information can be found at www.crewheartsupport.co.uk
