£12,000 boost for NSPCC
Golfers scored a hole in one by raising £12,000 at a charity golf day.
The cash was raised by 42 teams at West End Golf Club for children's charity, the NSPCC. The winning team was from furniture company Andy Thornton's, of Elland and West Vale.
Marion Bell, chairwoman of Calderdale NSPCC, said the event has raised 60,000 since it began in 2003.
"This was the seventh charity golf day and we are delighted to have raised 12,000. When it began in 2003 we raised 3,050 and that figure had risen each year.
"It was a great success."
The money raised will be support NSPCC projects in West Yorkshire.
