£5,000 cash boost for the Overgate Hospice
Overgate Hospice has been handed a £5,000 boost from the Mayor of Todmorden, Julie Stansfield.
She raised the money during her year of office through various events after selecting the hospice as her chosen charity.
Councillor Stansfield was aware of the work the hospice does after it cared for a relative.
"The care he received was wonderful and that is why I wanted to support Overgate, the nurses are lovely and everyone is on hand to help you," she said.
Hospice community fund-raiser Laura Ramsden said Coun Stansfield had raised the profile of the hospice in Todmorden tremendously.
Councillor Stansfield said she would continue to support the hospice in the future and is considering taking part in a parachute jump to raise further funds.
