80s pop music to beat the vandals

STAFF at a playgroup plagued by vandals have organised an 80s fund-raising night.

The event, with a special appearance from Nathan Moore, of 80s pop band Brother Beyond, will raise money to replace computer equipment and digital cameras stolen in a raid at Mytholmroyd Play-group last month.

A week before a gate was ripped from the ground and vandals had caused damage to the play area.

The playgroup, based in the community centre, Caldene Avenue, has had a computer donated by Ripponden firm Covers 33 but is still in need of cash to buy new cameras.

The disco will take place at the community centre on Saturday, June 14.
