Airlift for crash victim with an injured eye

A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after a motorbike crash.

The 42-year-old was crossing Halifax Road near Callis Bridge in Hebden Bridge when the accident happened.

She suffered serious eye injuries when the rider's shoulder ended up jabbing her in the face.

She also suffered liver injuries and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called in to take her to Leeds General Infirmary.

The 53-year-old motorcyclist – who had been travelling towards Hebden Bridge when the accident happened at 3pm on Sunday –was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital for checks.

He is not believed to be have been seriously injured. Meanwhile another motorcyclist crashed in Oxenhope on Saturday afternoon.

The 43-year-old rider – from Manchester – suffered a broken ankle in the accident on Hebden Bridge Road at 1.10pm.
