Canoe taster session for females
HALIFAX Canoe Club is holding a taster class for females to mark International Women's Day.
Spokesman Les Ford said: "Canoeing is often wrongly seen as a male dominated sport, but is really suitable for all – whether they want to go for a leisurely paddle with the family or compete at the highest level.
"This is an ideal chance to try the sport in the warmth of the swimming pool, with the opportunity for those that enjoy the session to join one of our beginners' courses which start after Easter."
The session, which costs 3, is open to all ages and abilities and led by female coaches.
It will be held at Sowerby Bridge Swimming Pool tomorrow (Saturday) at 6.15pm.
