Chocolate shop a hit at school
Geography never tasted so good as when students from Brooksbank sold chocolate to raise awareness of Fairtrade products.
The pupils from the Elland secondary sold Fairtrade chocolate and school-made buns at break and lunchtimes. Seventy students took turns running the stall and worked in lessons to produce marketing materials to promote the project.
"The chocolate shop has been hugely popular," said John Campbell, head of geography. "The project is about the chocolate industry from cocoa bean to supermarket shelf." ducers."
Over 1,600 was raised, with a percentage of profits going directly to Ghanaian producers.
