Club lifts outright ban on sexy undies show
MEMBERS of Hebden Bridge Trades Club have decided against an outright ban on scantily-clad men and women flaunting their wares for charity.
Saucy charity fashion shows were temporarily banned in the club after members complained a fund-raising event last month was inappropriate.
Scantily-clad men and women sporting briefs, stockings and suspenders from the Romanza lingerie shop in Crown Street, Hebden Bridge, posed on a catwalk and raised 300 for Breast Cancer Research UK.
Committee members temporarily banned underwear shows from the club after they received a strongly-worded letter of objection and further complaints flooded in.
But, at a committee meeting last night, members decided there would be no hard and fast rules regarding charity gigs at the club.
Trades Club president Pete Lazenby said: "We've decided we're not permanently banning anything from the club.
"All applications for benefit events will be dealt with on their own merit. Club members will make a decision based on each individual case."
