Doghouse invited to host stage at Wychwood Festival

HALIFAX music promoters The Doghouse have again been asked to run a stage at this year's Wychwood Festival at Cheltenham later this month.

They ran a stage for the first time last year and this year will be looking after the festival's third stage.

An eclectic mix of bands and solo artists will be heading south with them, including Calderdale artists Motion Picture Association, Maghribibeat, Long Trick, The Black Bloc and solo performer Tim Radins.

Doghouse spokesman Michael Ainsworth said: "We had such a great time last year at what is a really great festival in a beautiful location and it was great to be asked back.

"We've booked some fantastic local, northern and even southern talent on our stage and it will also be great to see the likes of Super Furry Animals and Supergrass on the main stage.

"It's quite hard work though and there will be a large Doghouse contingent there to share the work."

Special discount tickets can be bought by subscribing to the Doghouse mailing list.

The Doghouse regularly promotes live music in Halifax, including monthly gigs at the Royal Oak, Halifax, family-friendly Sundays at Arden Road Social Club and recently a gig at Halifax Parish Church, headlined by US dream-folk artist Marissa Nadler.
