Film-makers, now here is your chance

A CALL has been made for budding young movie makers who dream of changing the world, to submit short films to The Co-operative Film Festival.

Youngsters aged 19 and under, have until May 28 to get their entries in for the prestigious festival, formerly known as the Co-operative Young Film Makers Festival.

It will be held at Bradford's National Media Museum on Thursday, and Friday, October 7 and 8.

Through drama or documentary, animation or comedy, music video or silent movies, film makers are encouraged to be co-operative, creative, innovative and experimental and tackle issues that concern them such as climate change, Fairtrade or community.

Entries should be no more than six minutes long and will be viewed and selected by a panel of media professionals and educationalists.

Festival patron and director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz Edgar Wright said: "The Co-operative Film Festival is a fantastic opportunity for any young film maker.

"First and foremost you get to see your work on the big screen.

"I saw all of my early shorts in front of packed houses at the National Media Museum. It was great and inspired me ever onward."
