Free Christmas parking in Calderdale's towns
PARKING will be free in Calderdale's main towns for the first time in the run-up to Christmas.
All pay-and-display parking bays will be free after 3pm on late-night shopping days.
Calderdale economy spokeswoman Amanda Byrne said: "It is important we do all we can to help residents shop locally."
In Halifax, there will be free parking on Thursdays in all street bays and at car parks at Mulcture Hall Road, Victoria Street, Cross Hills and High Street.
In Brighouse it will be free on Thursdays and Fridays in pay-and-display bays.
In Hebden Bridge it is Thursdays and in Elland free parking will be on Thursday, December 10 and 17 and Friday, December 11 and 18.
Two Todmorden car parks will be free every Saturday until Christmas.
