Gang burst into woman's Bradford home and steal cash in teatime raid

A GANG of thieves burst into a woman's home in Bradford demanding cash.

The victim, in her 60s, was at her home in Melcombe Way, Holmewood, at 6.30pm on Saturday when three men forced their way in through the front door.

One made her sit down on the stairs while the other two searched the property. One of them told her: "We've come for your money."

They left with a substantial amount of cash, heading off up Camberley Mount.

The victim had been to the Post Office on Broadstone Way earlier that the day, at around at 12pm, where she had withdrawn the cash.

She was wearing black trousers, a white blouse and a knitted top. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously or watching the victim.

The suspects are described as three males who were wearing navy or black balaclavas with eye holes. Two of them were wearing black or navy donkey jackets and the third one was wearing a dark jacket which possibly had a white stripe on it. They were all wearing dark gloves.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery, has any information about the suspects or saw anyone acting suspiciously when the victim was at the Post Office is asked to contact Det Con Matthew Donohoe or Det Con Mark Barrett at Bradford South CID on 0845 60 60 606 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
