Half-term at the parks
Half-term fun is planned through the Green Action Project's 2010 Year of Biodiversity in north Halifax.
On Saturday, from 9am to noon, children of six upwards can get involved in conservation work at Beechwood Park, Holmfield. Meet at Beechwood Drive car park.
Also on Saturday, volunteers should meet at the adventure playground in Mixenden Road, Mixenden, at 1pm for work to preserve and sustain wildlife at Mixenden ponds.
On Tuesday from 11am to 1pm there will be a nature walk around Shroggs Park for children six and over. Meet at the bowling pavilion.
And on Wednesday, bird boxes will be built at Dodgholme Community Garden from 10am to 1pm. At 3pm, Beechwood Nature Park Group learn about birds.
