Inquest adjourned for hospital probe

A CORONER has ordered an inquest into a man's death be adjourned for investigations into how he was treated at Calderdale Royal Hospital's Accident and Emergency department.

Michael Teale, of Banksfield Avenue, Mytholmroyd, died with four times the lethal dose of morphine in his blood at the hospital on April 16.

An inquest at Halifax Town Hall heard claims the 47-year-old had been left untreated for five hours and relatives questioning why Mr Teale, who they said was a drug-user, was not issued with medication to combat the morphine when he was admitted.

West Yorkshire's deputy coroner Paul Marks adjourned the inquest to be reconvened pending information from the hospital.
