Medieval farming ways revealed

Halifax Antiquarians heard a lecture by Nigel Smith on "Medieval Farming Practices in the Upper Calder Valley." As well as describing dairy and beef production, he also described how deer were kept and farmed in Erringden Park.

He was thanked by Donald Haigh. The next meeting will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday November 18 at Halifax Central Library, when Dr John Hargreaves will give the Eric Webster Memorial Lecture on "Benjamin Rushton, Handloom Weaver, Radical Agitator and Non-Conformist Preacher."
