Men in court after armed robberies
THREE men were appearing in court today after two armed robberies in two days in Halifax.
The three have been charged with robbery and burglary in connection with incidents in the Savile Park area.
Now police are urging homeowners in the area to check their CCTV to help gather evidence.
Det Insp Gary Stephenson, of Calderdale CID, said: "We have had two gun point robberies in Savile Park.
"I am appealing to all residents to look at their own CCTV footage for Wednesday and Thursday nights and early mornings.
"We need to know if they see anyone unusual on there. Have these men been to other houses, have they gone through people's gardens?
"Your house might not have been attacked but they might have looked at it, realised there were CCTV cameras, and chosen another target."
During the robberies, men forced their way into the victim's homes and stole property.
They attacked a terraced house in Savile Park Road late on Wednesday night, and a stone terraced house in Moorlands View, off Free School Lane, Savile Park on Thursday.
It is thought the occupants were held at gunpoint for cash and property.
Det Insp Stephenson said: "These are really serious offences. No doubt these people have spent some time in the area planning the offences and they are on CCTV somewhere.
"There have been a number of incidents in the Savile Park area over the last seven to 10 days."
Three other men who were arrested and questioned by police have been released.
